Surabaya – Indonesia seems to become more eye-catching in the eyes of foreign countries. This is evident by the visitation of several US business professors from various states to Indonesia. Apparently, they feel that Indonesia has a huge potential to be a dominant mover of the world’s economy.

The group’s leader, Randall B. Dunham says that this visitation is a collaboration program between University of Wisconsin, Madison and University of Hawaii which is funded by the US government. This program is conducted annually to visit various countries in Asia. “We have visited Singapore, Thailand, and other countries. This year, we chose Indonesia”, according to him during their visit to JawaPos Office yesterday, January 9, 2013.

In that visitation, Randall brought along 15 other professors who teach business at various universities. This group was also accompanied by the President of Hawaii-Indonesia Chamber of Commerce, Amin Leiman.

“We arrived in Jakarta on January 3rd. We went to Surabaya to initiate our Faculty Development in International Business (FDIB) program with UnversitasPelitaHarapan (UPH). At the same time, we observed the industry environment. Subsequently, we will be going to Bali as our final destination.”according to the head of Centers of International Business Education and Research (CIBER) in Wisconsin Business School.

He said that the real reason why they chose Indonesia for this year was the position of the economy that had gained more prominence in the world. According to him, Indonesia’s assets in natural resources as well as human resources are one of their economic strengths.
